PVO Pet Collective Opens Its First Storefront in Edgewood

PVO Pet Collective, a mother-daughter pet boutique, opened its first brick-and-mortar store June 13 at 285 Mayson Ave NE in Edgewood, DeKalb County. Here is what is inside and why it is worth knowing if you work buyers in that corridor.

PVO Pet Collective opened its first physical store on June 13 at 285 Mayson Ave NE, Suite 1, in the Hanover Edgewood retail strip in DeKalb County, just off LaFrance Avenue. Mother-and-daughter owners Jackie and Charme Carr started the business in early 2025 making human-grade dog treats out of their own kitchen, then built it into an online boutique and a rotation of pop-ups around Atlanta before signing a lease on the space. The storefront is the first time customers can walk in rather than order online or catch them at a market, and the grand opening drew a block party with local vendors and a line for the first fifteen customers, who got a year of complimentary monthly treats.

Inside, the shop runs on two tracks: retail and services. The retail side is treats, toys, apparel and accessories, with roughly 80 percent of the merchandise sourced from small and minority-owned brands rather than the usual big pet-supply labels -- freeze-dried and dehydrated treats, interactive toys, grooming supplies, walking gear, and a cat section with organic shampoo and harness sets. The services side is what sets it apart from a typical boutique: a pet spa, a bookable photo studio with seasonal backdrops, and an outdoor patio the Carrs use for dog-friendly meetups and classes. It is open daily, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

This is useful to know if you are working with a buyer looking at Edgewood, Kirkwood or the Reynoldstown side of the DeKalb Avenue corridor. A lot of that in-town demand is driven by people who want to walk their dog somewhere and have somewhere to take it -- a coffee shop, a patio, a groomer within a few blocks. PVO is that kind of amenity, and it is exactly the sort of detail a buyer relocating from out of state has no way to find on their own before they move in.

The Hanover Edgewood building it sits in is ground-floor retail under an apartment community, with parking in the small retail lot off Mayson rather than street spaces -- worth mentioning if a client wants to swing by and look. There is no restaurant angle here and no dish to recommend; the draw is a genuinely local operation with real hours and real inventory, not a chain outpost with a corporate name over the door.

If you are showing a listing near Edgewood or the DeKalb Avenue corridor this month, PVO is worth a five-minute detour on the way. The treat case alone is a good read on how the shop curates, and the mother-daughter story behind it is the kind of detail buyers with dogs tend to remember longer than a listing sheet.
